Make Mother’s Day Weekend Special!

Sunday May 12th is officially Mother’s Day, but at Ocala Horse Properties, we think Mom should be celebrated all weekend long.  With that in mind, here’s our recommendations for unique regional events to make this weekend a memorable one!

Friday May 10th – Take her to downtown Ocala!  Enjoy live music at Ocala’s Downtown Square while you shop, dine and enjoy time with your family.  Bring some chairs or a picnic blanket and enjoy the sounds of local musicians on the square.  Brought to you by the City of Ocala.

Saturday May 11th take a day trip to Gainesville.  Within 45 minutes you can be in downtown Gainesville to enjoy a day at the 35th Annual Windsor Zucchini Festival which features over 100 arts, crafts and food vendors.  Yes – zucchini takes center stage at this annual event that raises money  to support the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.  Go satisfy your craving for zucchini bread and ice cream and have a great time supporting local artists and vendors.  Admission is free and event details can be found on the Festival Website.

Make Sunday May 12th the grand finale of your Mother’s Day weekend by treating Mom to an evening of music, food and fireworks!  Fine Arts for Ocala (FAFO) presents Symphony Under the Stars, being held at the Ocala Golf Club on Silver Springs Boulevard.  General admission for adults is $20 (online) or $25 at the door and kids under 17 are free!  You can bring your own picnic and beverages or purchase from one of the many food vendors.  If you prefer to take advantage of the VIP experience,  ticket price is $60 per adult and $30 for kids, which includes VIP parking, Adirondack chair select seating, dinner and your choice to BYOB or buy refreshments at the cash bar.
