Thirty-three horse and rider combinations entered the ring at Southern Cross Equestrian to battle it out for $15,000 in prize money for the 4th annual Ocala Horse Properties’ Eventing Prix.

The entry list read like the who’s who of top international level eventing competition, which included an impressive number of under 25 young guns as well. The field of entries showcased the degree of talented event riders who base their training operations in Ocala during the winter training season and throughout the year.

After the first round of competition, fourteen horses and riders with double-clear rounds returned for the jump-off to determine the individual and team winners. Sara and Rubens D’Ysieux won the jump-off by a mere 1.289 seconds over second-placed Caroline Martin and Quantum Solace and Kurt Martin and Delux Z. Sara, along with Team Unstable riders, Bobby Meyerhoff, Joe Meyer and Sharon White, topped the team rankings as well.

EQTV was on hand to livestream the event, with Jenni Autry of Eventing Nation and Cathy Wieschhoff adding the color commentary for the day. The entire day was quite lively, with a large number of spectators enjoying not only the competition but also the food, libations, VIP tent and live band at the after-party as well!

Rob Desino, along with Matt Varney, were there on behalf of Ocala Horse Properties to cheer on the field of eventing competitors. Matt summarized perfectly why this particular victory was so sweet.

“We have been fortunate enough to participate in many award ceremonies as sponsors, but rarely do we get to present the winner’s check to someone we have rooted for and known for so long. Congrats to our great friend Sara Kozumplik Murphy, her husband Brian and the entire Rubens D’Ysieux Syndicate on a victory well deserved!”

Ocala Horse Properties congratulates all the competitors and we thank event organizers Max Corcoran and Scott Keach of Southern Cross Equestrian who showcase the sport of eventing through this unique competitive format. Each year the eventing prix continues to grow in the number of entries and spectators, making this one of the must-attend equestrian experiences in Marion County.
