Fabulous Furball and VOCAL Pets For Adoption This Month!

On February 10th, Ocala Horse Properties came together with the community to support the region’s 4 legged friends at the VOCAL Furball, held at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club. The event helped shine a light on the positive impact that VOCAL has had on the homeless animal population in Ocala.

Through the combined efforts of VOCAL and multiple private and business donors from our region, the event raised in excess of $146,000. These funds will be utilized to build a low cost spay and neuter clinic, which will be a significant force in reducing the number of euthanasias in Marion County.

The team at OHP was in attendance and had a wonderful evening taking part in this community wide event. Matt Varney was in attendance with his wife Courtney and they were uplifted by the group effort which made the evening such a success. “The night was a lot of fun and showed how much Ocala cares about VOCAL’s cause and we were thrilled to play a small part in raising so much money for them. The event was extremely well organized in all aspects, including the MC, organizers and volunteers who showcased the best that Ocala has to offer. We look forward to our continued partnership with them to further their mission in our community!”

Please Continue To Support and Adopt Animals Through VOCAL!

We will continue to post featured animals who are currently in foster care with VOCAL, but waiting to find their forever home! This week we have one of each four legged variety.

Meet Frank the Foster Father kitty! Frank came to VOCAL after being found in the woods and he was in pretty bad shape, losing an eye during his journey. He has matured into a wonderful kitty, and has no limitations with being a one-eyed feline. He’s actually quite happy in his role as head foster father kitty, so he will blend well into a home with other cats.

If you’re preference is to bring a foster dog into your home forever, then please consider Violet, a 6 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Violet came to VOCAL from another shelter, and is a wonderful sweet pet, who is a great choice for a family with kids.

As always, you can read about VOCAL’s mission on their website and peruse the multiple dogs, puppies, kittens and cats who are in need of permanent homes. We thank you so much for considering adopting an animal in need as your next loving pet!
