Summer is Coming to An End
The height of summer is waning, and during the warmer August days, there’s a subtle shift in our region, as locals and businesses gear up for the beginning of next season here in Ocala. Ocala Horse Properties is looking forward to the fall, when the light takes on a different slant in the sky, the temperatures are cooler, and there is a myriad of fun autumn festivities on the Marion County calendar.
Ocala does differ from other Florida towns, as our county has plenty to offer to year round residents. Still, the summer is the quiet season here, and with the anticipation of fall and the more temperate climate, there is an increase in local activities and celebrations.
Downtown Events, Carnivals, and Festivals
Feeling social and creative? There’s plenty of live music and concerts at the Reilly Arts Center. First Friday in the Downtown Square is also the perfect way to wrap up a work by enjoying the artistic talents that flourish in our city.
“Held the first Friday of each month from 6-9 p.m. from September thru May, the First Friday Art Walk spans fifteen city blocks within Ocala’s historic downtown core. The walk includes numerous indoor restaurants, businesses and open air spaces hosting visual and performing artists.”
Grab a group of friends or bring your family to stroll the Downtown Square. If you’re here to tour real estate, then a visit to First Friday is the perfect way to get acquainted with the artistic diversity in our beautiful city.

Ocala certainly has plenty to do in the fall; there are weekend park tours with the Florida Safari at Silver Springs State Park, nature walks at Rainbow Springs, and Farmstead Weekends at Crones’ Cradle Conserve to keep you well entertained.
While fall in the northern states usually means water adventures are winding down, here in Marion County water sports are popular year round. Don’t forget to explore wildlife and tour our waterways via boat or kayak. After a full day of outdoor activities, soaking in our hot springs will leave you refreshed and appreciative of all that Marion County has to offer.
