The team at Ocala Horse Properties continues to be wowed by the spectacular performance of Liz Halliday-Sharp and Deniro Z as they continue their winning streak in Europe!

Last season the Desino brothers decided that the best way to continue their support of the sport of eventing was through horse ownership, thus becoming the primary owners of Deniro Z.

This Dutch Warmblood gelding has been artfully produced through the talent of friend and Olympic-level talent, Liz Halliday-Sharp. Since stepping up to the 2* level in February of 2017, this pair has won each of their 2* competitions at Pine Top, Carolina International, Ocala International, and now Barbary Castle in England!

Liz, who splits her time between her farm in Ocala and her yard in England, became friends with the team at Ocala Horse Properties when she and her husband purchased their farm in Ocala. The Desinos, who were previously competitive event riders, remain active in the equestrian community through event/show sponsorship and horse ownership.

Liz recently posted the following on her social media:

“Deniro Z is just unbelievable!! His 4th 2* win of 2017 was today at Barbury Castle!! He was in a huge section and the only horse to finish on his dressage score… I just adore this horse and am so proud to be his rider every day.”

This duo is receiving great press from across the pond after their big win at Barbury. Katie from E-Venting was kind enough to share this photo from her recent article on the 2* division.

“With the temperatures still in the mid-twenties combined with Barbury’s infamous hills clear rounds inside the time in the three 2* sections were few and very far in between. None of the dressage leaders were able to keep hold of their leads with the final leaderboards seeing big changes. In section C only one rider was able to get inside the time, Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp aboard Deniro Z, and in doing so she was able to take home the win finishing on their dressage score of 41.3.”

Liz’s near term plan is to have Deniro Z step up to the Advanced next weekend at Aston Le Walls before heading to the Intermediate British Championship the first week of August. Longer term goals include the CIC3* at Blenheim for 8 and 9 year olds in September before heading back to the states to potentially enter the Ocala 3* in November.

The Desino’s are tremendously proud of this pair and are looking forward to charting their progress to the top of the sport. Keep an eye on Liz and Deniro Z, as they will certainly be garnering more attention at the International level of the eventing in the near future!
