Ocala Horse Properties Returns as Title Sponsor of 2018 Eventing Prix

For the 5th consecutive year, Ocala Horse Properties enthusiastically returns as the title sponsor for the OHP Eventing Prix, being held March 5th & 6th, at Southern Cross Equestrian.

The Eventing Prix was created by international show jumper, Scott Keach, and world-renowned eventing groom and facility manager, Max Corcoran. The event showcases top-level event riders show jumping against the clock in a team format, similar to a Nations Cup Grand Prix. Since Ocala is a mecca for international level event riders, the ability to offer this type of show jumping competition to those equestrians has become wildly popular. Throw in a $15K prize purse and it’s guaranteed to attract the best in the business!

Last year the top individual prize went to Sara Kozumplik Murphy, aboard her top mount, Rubens D’Ysieux. Sara’s team, consisting of several other Ocala based riders – Joe Meyer, Sharon White and Bobby Meyerhoff, also stole the top placing team ranking. The competition was a great success, showcasing the region’s great equestrian talent to a large crowd of spectators.

This year will be equally as entertaining, with an early list of world-class entries assuring that the competition will be fierce!

In addition, there will be plenty of food and beverage carts available to spectators in the free general seating areas, or you can gather a group of friends and purchase VIP seats in the ringside tent.

Our friends at Eventing Nation recently caught up with Matt Varney to confirm that OHP would return as title sponsor. Matt said it is one of his favorite shows to sponsor.

“It feels like a big picnic and everyone has such a great time. Max Corcoran and Scotty Keach do such a fantastic job of hosting the show, and the facility has a great atmosphere for it.”

So gather up your friends and come out to watch some of the world’s best event riders battle it out for the $15K prize purse.
