VOCAL Reaches Fundraising Goal For Spay/Neuter Clinic!

Ocala Horse Properties is pleased to announce that due to the recent fundraising efforts throughout our community, VOCAL has reached a milestone goal to break ground for their spay/neuter clinic this summer! Without the enthusiasm from our Ocala community and tireless efforts of volunteers and members of VOCAL, this monumental goal would never have been achieved. This is a fundamental step towards managing the unregulated breeding of cats and dogs in Marion County, and we anticipate a positive impact on homeless animals.

Please see an excerpt from VOCAL’s recent newsletter celebrating this accomplishment, and keep an eye on their website for a schedule of their future events and information on animals in need of permanent and loving homes. VOCAL is the epitome of the care that exists in our local community and the team at Ocala Horse Properties is honored to be involved with such a worthy cause.

VOCAL Furball Huge Success, PC Tammy Griffin

The 2018 FurBall Was a HUGE Success

VOCAL’s third annual FurBall on February 10, 2018 was our best FurBall yet!  It was wonderful to see so many members of our community supporting change for homeless animals in our community.   The theme of this year’s FurBall was “Love is a Four Legged Word,” and we surely felt the love for VOCAL’s mission.  With help from our emcee, Evan Hecht and our amazing sponsors, including Dr. Maggie Bell and Darcy Bird, our presenting sponsors, we raised well above our goal of $105,000 with a whopping $140,000 raised for our clinic!

A Heartwarming & Fun Evening

The 2018 FurBall was held at the beautiful Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club.  Along with a delicious prime rib dinner, guests enjoyed live music from Fast Lane Funk, a casino room hosted by Casino Party Planners, professional red carpet photos from Tammy Griffin, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and a silly photo booth with costumes to complete the evening.

Thank You to Our Presenting Sponsors

Dr. Maggie Bell and her husband Darcy Bird were our Presenting Sponsor for this year’s FURBALL.  Pictured above with some of her co-workers from West Marion Hospital, they always bring the party with them.  We are grateful for the support that Maggie and Darcy have provided since our inception as an organization and for their commitment to our mission to solve the homeless pet problem in our community.

What’s Up Next for VOCAL Clinic and Events?

Now that VOCAL has reached their fundraising goal, they are currently in the beginning stages of construction for their clinic.  They are hoping to break ground this summer on the building and will continue to update us each month with their progress.

This weekend, Saturday April 14th, VOCAL is holding a community yard sale at their headquarters, so mark you calendar to do some spring time bargain hunting.  All proceeds will go to support our furry friends in Ocala!
