Greetings From the Nations Cup CHIO Aachen!

The team at Ocala Horse Properties is on the road to cheer on the US Equestrian Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team at the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ Aachen CCIO4*-S during CHIO Aachen, being held July 19-20 in Aachen, Germany.  It is truly an honor to watch Liz Halliday-Sharp and Deniro Z, owned by Ocala Horse Properties, as they represent the United States!

Erik Duvander will continue as the chef d’equipe, coaching the following group of top international riders:

  • Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp (Ocala, Fla.) and Deniro Z, an 11-year-old KWPN gelding, owned by Ocala Horse Properties’
  • Phillip Dutton (West Grove, Pa.) and Z, an 11-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Thomas Tierney, Simon Roosevelt, Suzanne Lacy, Caroline Moran, and Ann Jones
  • Caroline Martin (Miami Beach, Fla.) and Islandwood Captain Jack, a 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding owned by Caroline and Sherrie Martin
  • Tamra Smith (Murrieta, Calif.) and Wembley, Kevin Baumgardner’s 16-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding

The FEI Eventing Nations Cup Aachen CCIO4*-S will take place during the 2019 World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen. The dressage and jumping phases will take place Friday, July 19, while the cross-country phase will close out the competition on Saturday, July 20.

In addition to the US Eventing Team, our country has sent a show jumping team, driving team and dressage team which all have ties to training bases in Florida.  We want to send a special shout out to Ocala’s Chester Weber and Misdee Wrigley-Miller (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.), who will both be representing the US in the 4-in-hand combined driving championships.  Their competition kicks off on 7/18 and continues through Sunday 7/21.

The US Show Jumping team consists of Kent Farrington (Wellington, Fla.), Laura Kraut (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.), Beezie Madden (Cazenovia, N.Y.), Nicole Shahinian-Simpson (Wellington, Fla.) and McLain Ward (Brewster, N.Y.).

The FEI Jumping Nations Cup Aachen CSIO5* will take place on Thursday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m. ET. The U.S. Nations Cup horses will be announced at a later date.
