Live Oak International Delights Record Number of Spectators in Ocala!
Once again, the experience attending Live Oak International has proven why it is one of the most celebrated multi-discipline FEI events in the country! Each year, Ocala Horse Properties is so impressed by how the entire community comes together to make this event a destination weekend in Ocala. The Weber family, the competition organizers and all of the local volunteers should be commended for another fantastic weekend of thrilling equestrian sport.
The event featured spectator friendly exhibitions, shopping and top class equestrian competition. The event is the only of its type, running both the USEF Combined Driving Championships alongside several FEI Show Jumping classes with $180,000 in prize money! In the end, Chester Weber remained unstoppable, seizing his record 16th USEF Four-in-Hand National Championship title, and Steve Wilson won the USEF Advanced Pairs Combined Driving National Championship.
In the show jumping arena, it was a 17 year old who topped two of the classes over the weekend. Brian Moggre aboard MTM Vivre le Reve, won both the $35,700 CSI3* Longines World Ranking Competition and the Longines $100,000 World Cup Qualifier! Of the 38 starters, six made it to the jump-off over the course designed by Olaf Peterson. Several riders fell victim to a spooky wall at fence 10, an the exciting jump-off thrilled the crowd of nearly 5,000 spectators which brought to total for this year’s Live Oak International to a record of 15,000 for the weekend.
The Weber family is instrumental in our community, not only for orchestrating this phenomenal event, but also by supporting our efforts with Horse Farms Forever and land preservation in our region. As the Official Realtors of Live Oak International, Ocala Horse Properties was delighted by the entire weekend and thrilled to support the Weber family’s efforts to continue this world class equestrian venue. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
