Ocala Horse Properties Announces Two New Additions to Our Ocala Real Estate Team!
Ocala Horse Properties is excited to officially announce an addition to our team by adding our colleagues from Hudson Phillips Properties, Amy Atkins & Stacy Larsson.
These two accomplished agents combine an incredible equestrian passion and extensive experience in luxury real estate. They have joined forces to help boost OHP’s already industry leading expertise and service.
As equestrians themselves, they bring an authentic appreciation for the equine lifestyle that is at the heart of our business. This union represents a new chapter for Ocala Horse Properties as we continue to strengthen our position as Ocala’s leading luxury and horse farms real estate company.
Amy Atkins has been a horsewoman her entire life, starting her competitive career as an event rider and then focusing on endurance riding. She and her husband, Australian eventer Peter Atkins, moved from Vermont to Ocala 23 years ago and her love of the area made her decision to get a real estate license an easy one. Amy and her business partner, Stacy Larsson have been with Hudson Phillips since 2019, and transitioned to working at Ocala Horse Properties at the end of 2023.
“It’s an incredible honor to join the OHP team, it’s such a powerhouse,” she said. The pair work under broker Matt Varney, and she said, “Matt is incredibly talented and inspirational to work with; we’ve been working with him as our broker anyway but joining this team is incredible. Stacy and I have worked as a team in a lot of our deals with Hudson Phillips and I think we can work together and make Ocala Horse Properties even bigger.”
Amy said that she and her husband and started coming to Ocala in the late 1990s and moved here permanently in 2003. She and Peter are an equestrian power couple: as an endurance rider, she said, she has competed in 100-mile rides and in 2018 did a 100-mile ride in Tasmania. She also has her USDF medals in dressage. Peter rode for Australia in the Eventing Championship at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
As a horsewoman, Stacy Larsson loves her Ocala lifestyle. As a real estate agent, she loves sharing this lifestyle with others. Having lived in Ocala for more than 20 years, Stacy knows the ins and outs of the community and is well versed in the nuances of Ocala life. She has worked with Hudson Phillips for the past four years, and recently transitioned to the Ocala Horse Properties office where she is excited to put her equestrian skills to work for her clients.
“I’m honored the office asked Amy and I to be a part of Ocala Horse Properties,” she said. “We’re like a family and work as a team.”
She and Amy are individual subcontractors; Matt Varney has always been their broker at Hudson Phillips, and they will continue to work under his leadership at Ocala Horse Properties.
Stacy said, “We make a great team, we all work well together and I love them all like family. It’s fitting that we all work together and look out for each other and help each other out. Working in equestrian real estate is super fun and was a natural fit for me; I really enjoy real estate, home décor and architectural design and being able to combine that with these beautiful homes and barns and farms is a dream come true. I also get to put my horse knowledge together when clients are considering how to remodel a barn or make improvements to a property. It’s been fun for me.”
